Ashai Mugam-Tamil Lyrics with English Translation

Ashai Mugam is originally a Tamil Carnatic song composed by Subramanya Bharathi. The composer wrote this song when he lost the only photograph of his beloved mother whom he lost when he was a young boy.

P.S-Kannan is colloquially used as a word for someone who is much behaved in most south Indian languages (originally Tamil).Here it’s addressed to the composer's mother.

  2. Even though I do not understand Thamil (just a few words and the script), I love the melody. Now I know the meaning of the words. Thanks. In any case, my enjoyment of music (whether Euro or Indian classical or rock fusion) derives from the melody and the singing and playing of instruments.
