Sharing is Caring

This morning I same across a video which got me to tears. This video talks about  a school boy who opens his lunch box during lunch break, only to find it empty. Heartbroken, he walks out of the class and drinks some water from the school water fountain to fill his stomach. He gets back to the class and finds out that the empty box, is now filled with different snacks. Confused he looks around and realizes that he has a small portion of each classmate's lunch in his box. With a wide smile, he takes a joyful bite of a sandwich and the video ends with a smile on my face. The video intends that we need to take care of the each other at all circumstances.

This video took me back to my school days. I remember having a huge group of friends in 9th  grade. We always sat in a big round circle for lunch breaks and would pass each others tiffin boxes around. Everyone got a small portion of each others snack. My mom often worked early morning shifts and I seldom took any snacks those days.I'd be so hungry by break time but this ritual of sharing, helped me a lot.I am so grateful to my school friends.
Back when I was growing up, my parents always forced, my brother and me to share everything with each other. My brother being the elder one and the smarter one, always got the better share and I'd be whining about it the whole day.Three years back, when I wanted to purse my Masters in the U.S ,he financed my education with no hesitation. I wonder if I would be half as nice and generous as him, if I had to do the same.
I believe I  learned my best bit of sharing when I moved to the U.S.From sharing an apartment to sharing each others clothes, it was and still is a great learning experience.
Dont have tomatoes to make curry? No problem! Just run upstairs to your friends house and grab a tomato.
Hairy legs and no time to wax? No problem! Run to roomies closet and steal her stockings.
We always get it SORTED!  I learned to share care and bear the most living away from home.

I really thank God for blessing me with incredible people around me, who only know to love. I pray that I can do the same as well. I hope that I grow to be a person who loves the act of sharing and giving instead of only taking  !

Hey! After a long long time, here's an evergreen malayalam song.I mainly did this song as I couldn't find an english translation of Ponveene anywhere.

Details:
Song: Ponveene
Movie:Thalavattam
Music: Raghu Kumar and Rajamani
Singers: KS Chithra, MG Sreekumar
Lyrics: Poovachal Khader

Lyrics and Translations:

Ponveene ennullil maunam vangu
Dear veena ,take away the sad silence from me
Janmangal pulkum nin nadam nalaku
And fill me with your melodious sound reigning for generations
Doothum peri neengum mekham
Like the clouds constantly moving in search of their messenger
Manninnnekum ethu kavyam
As the soil fills with unknown symphony
Hamsangal paadunna geetham, eniyuminiyumarulee
The music of the swans repeated yet again and again.

Ponveene ennullil maunam vangu
Dear veena ,take away the sad silence from me
Janmangal pulkum nin nadam nalaku
And fill me with your melodious sound reigning for generations

Ven mathikala choodum vinnin charuthayil
Glowing in white moonlight on a divinely full moon day
Poochirakukal needi vaanin athirukal thedi
With colourful feathers in search of limitless boundaries
Prannerunnu manam maran nadannu
With a forgetful mind,we dance flying high
Swapnangal neythum nava rathnangal peythum (2)
Achieving our dreams with precious jewels pouring
Ariyathe ariyathee amritha sarasin karayil.
Unknowingly searching for the shores of an immortal land

Ponveene ennullil maunam vangu
Dear veena ,take away the sad silence from me
Janmangal pulkum nin nadam nalaku
And fill me with your melodious sound reigning for generations

Chenthalirukalolum kanya vaadiyakayil
With untouched lotus flowers blossoming in virgin ponds
Man enakalee nokki kayil karukayumayee
Watching the deer's romance with  coconut leaves in our hand
Varam nedunnu swayamvaram kollunnu
Blessed fortunately with a partner of our choice
Hemantham pole nava vasantham pole(2)
Like spring season as the blooming flower spread their fragrance
Layam pole nalam pole ariya haritha giriyil
In this evergreen mountain of love, we found our love-life.

Ponveene ennullil maunam vangu
Dear veena ,take away the sad silence from me
Janmangal pulkum nin nadam nalaku
And fill me with your melodious sound reigning for generations
Doothum peri neengum mekham
Like the clouds constantly moving in search of their messenger
Manninnnekum ethu kavyam
As the soil fills with unknown symphony
Hamsangal paadunna geetham, eniyuminiyumarulee
The music of the swans repeated yet again and again.

Krishna Nee Beganee (English Lyrics) -Colonial Cousins (20th year anniversary special)

Hey, long time guys. Hope all is well. I was 6 years old when Colonial cousins came up with their very first pop album colonial cousins (named after the band itself). The album broke all records in India and also all around the world. It also revolutionized pop music in India.

Krishna is my favorite song from this album. Its an incredible song that spreads the message of peace and harmony. The song is sang by Harihanranji and Lesle Lewis. This song is dedicated to the 20th year anniversary of the great Indian band Colonial Cousins.

Lyrics:

Krishna nee begane baro
Krishna please come quickly
Krishna nee begane baro
Krishna please come quickly

Darkness coming round
And everybody fighting with their brothers
Everybody wants control
Don't hesitate to kill one another
So come back as Jesus
Come back and save the world
Bless all the future
Of every boy and girl
Come back as Rama
Forgive us for what we've done
Come back as Allah
Come back as anyone

Krishna nee begane baro
Krishna please come quickly
Krishna nee begane baro
Krishna please come quickly

Religion is the reason
The world is breaking up into pieces
Colour of the people
Keeps us locked in hate please release us

So come down and help us
Save all the little ones
They need a teacher
And you are the only one
We can rely on
To build a better world
A world that's for children
A world that's for everyone

Time is the healer
Time moves on
Time don't wait for anyone
You tell you'll be back
But that will take some time
I'm waiting...
ahh......
I'm waiting...
Waiting...
I'm waiting...

I'm waiting
Yea.... Yea...
Come back as Jesus
Come back and save the world
We need a teacher
You are the only one
Come back as Rama
Forgive us for what we've done
Come back as Allah
Come back as anyone

Krishna nee begane baro
Krishna please come quickly
Krishna nee begane baro
Krishna please come quickly

Jesus!
Come back and save the world
Bless all the future
Of every boy and girl
Come back as Rama
Forgive us for what we've done
Come back as Allah
Come back for everyone

Govinda bolo hare Gopal bolo.....(Repeat)

Say Glory to Govinda Glory to Gopal

Sky's Still Blue (Andrew Belle)-English Lyrics

Opened my blogspot this morning ,only to realize that my blog has been getting lots of views lately.I am really overwhelmed with this response.Thank you everyone.Have a great day and if you're hearing this, I must have made it  through ;). We all will definitely make it through because God is good.

This song has two versions.I just like this version more than the original. Bahut saara pyaar to Andrew Belle.

English Lyrics

Your heart is a city
Your eyes are a fixture
The mind tells a story
With ten thousand pictures
We stumble upon it
Fell through the ceiling tiles

We drew up a landscape
We climbed down a ladder
Carved out a memory
To follow the pattern
And now on a clear glass wall
I can see my faith
You know it's never too late

Oh, if you're hearing this
I must have made it through
Oh, when the clouds are burned
Open up my window
I see the sky's still blue

A vision is a portrait
A palate of colors
We swim in an ocean
With blindfolded lovers
And now that I've found my side
Oh, I finally realize that it was there the whole time

Oh, if you're hearing this
I must have made it through
Oh, when the clouds are burned
Open up my window
I see the sky's still blue

oh oh oh oh....

I see that the sky is still blue

Oh, if you're hearing this
I must have made it through
Oh, when the clouds are burned
Open up my window
I see the sky's still blue

Oh, if you're hearing this
oh oh oh oh ...
I must have made it through
Oh, if you're hearing this

oh oh oh oh ...
I see the sky's still blue

Etho Theerangal-Malayalam Lyrics with English Translation

I have been so busy with school and to get myself rejuvenated, I just thought of trying a new song. I absolutely love love love this song, right from the time I heard it. To be honest is was a very tough one and the translation might not be that authentic, so please pardon me. Moreover the lyrics has some in depth meaning and the interpretation would differ from person to person.
Etho Theerangal is a beautiful song from the movie Ivide and Prithviraj just nailed this movie with his acting. You can see the transformation of Prithviiraj from a chocolate boy to a versatile actor in this movie and his acting is definitely the highlight though the movie plot is just average. Nivin Pauly and Bhavna do a commendable job as well

Details:
Movie- Ivide
Singer and Music director-Gopi sunder
Lyrics- Rafeeq Ahmed

Malayalam Lyrics with English translation

Ooo.. Ooo..
Etho theerangal thedunnu Nhaanum neeyum innekantham
Searching for a peaceful shore, as you and me stay lonely here
Hemandam maayum naametho Thoomanhil nilaavaay chaayum
Having lost the beautiful winter season, we paint the snowflakes in the moonlight
Neeyo kelkkunneram nenjil Innente mownam sangeetham
The moment you listen to this agony, my heart turns my silence into music
Eeran kan thumbil minnaathe Nhaan maathram kaanum nin susmitham
With Moistness gleaming over my eyes, only I  see your beautiful smile (2)

Thedi thedi maaya dweepil Engo etho kaalangalaay
We have been searching for each other in a mysterious island from a long time
Namme nammal kaanaathoro Neram melle poymaranhoo
Unfortunately we missed each other every time and eventually time just passed by

Orkkaathinnaakashathil vannu Aadyaanuraagam pol ven megham
But today from nowhere the rainbow came out in the sky like a fresh romance

Ooo.. Ooo..
Etho theerangal thedunnu Nhaanum neeyum innekantham
Searching for a peaceful shore, as you and me stay lonely here
Hemandam maayum naametho Thoomanhil nilaavaay chaayum
Having lost the beautiful winter season, we paint the snowflakes in the moonlight
Neeyo kelkkunneram nenjil Innente mownam sangeetham
The moment you listen to this agony, my heart turns my silence into music
Eeran kan thumbil minnaathe Nhaan maathram kaanum nin susmitham
With Moistness gleaming over my eyes, only I  see your beautiful smile

Kaathil moolan etho dhaaham Gaanam pole nhaanunarthi
My lips whisper some desires which I fire in the form of a song
Vaanampaadi neeyen vaanil Chaare melle vanneedumo
Like melodious songs in my moonlight, will you come slowly?

Aa kannil nhaaninnaadyam kaanum Aalolam neendi pokum swapmnam
For the first time, I saw panoramic views running like dream in those eyes

Oo.. Oo.. Oo.. Oo..

Kaanthaa- Malayalam Lyrics with English Translation

Yay a new song after a long time. So the epic Thrissur Pooram (annual Thrissur festival) was held yesterday near the Vadakkunnathan Temple in Thrissur and if you’re a Malayali, you definitely know that the Thrissur pooram and the Vallam-khali (Boat race competition) are a really big deal in Kerala. I have never really been to the Thrissur pooram though I have seen it live on TV but they say it is really mesmerizing and one definitely needs to see the pooram at least once in a lifetime. The Thrissur pooram has been referred in Malayalam movie dialogues n number of times and words like vedikkette, aanchadam (sights in the pooram) are used to describe something really beautiful or kickass. So next time a guy comes you vedikette, don’t be mad at him he just meant you are awesome :)
Kaanthaa is the signature nadan (folk) song of the Thrissur pooram and I hope you guys really enjoy it.
Original version of the Kaantha song.I am not sure but I think it is sang by the malayali versatile actor Nedumudi Venu.

Rendition version by Masala coffee sang by Sooraj Santhosh and Varun Sunil.A special shout out to Varun for the awesome chorus and the entire crew for playing the instruments so well.

Rendition version Lyrics with English translation:
